  We have a hard working, diligent code enforcement officer in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, at present we have a reported a problem with which he, apparently, has been thwarted at every turn by Waste Pro. We live down by the Yacht Club. Folks on our street work at keeping our neighborhood looking good. There is an empty lot of our street, 1106 Lincoln Ct Cape Coral, which has become hazardous. In the night, some time ago someone dumped cut trees on the lot by the street and next to our house. We know that for some time our code officer has being trying to get Waste Pro and/or the property owner to remove the debris. This huge stack of dead material has a become a fire hazard. One tossed cigarette could light the lot afire, along with our house. The lot itself is a mess, tall with weeds. It is wrong that conscientious neighbors have to live with this horrible, hazardous eyesore. One question the neighbors keep asking is "why doesn't the City or the County come with their big "Claw" truck and remove the debris. It is a rat infested fire hazard. We are senior citizens who have cleared away what we can (including plastic bags of dumped debris, but we cannot get out there in the heat and bundle and move the larger tree pieces. We call on our officer to get someone else involved other than the property owner and Waste Pro, who are determined to do nothing. Smith Lincoln Ct.

  Cape Coral is the worst for code enforcement. Yet they are building a mobile home next to my 500K home. I guess that's better than having my very friendly shy puppy being off leash. Want to buy a house?

  I purchased a home 2 years ago in Cape Coral. I had an inspection, everything I needed to do. The roof started to leak. I had it worked on once and it leaked again and turned out to be the whole valley was installed wrong. When I called Code enforcement to to see when it was done and by whom, I was told it was a permit pulled by owner and work done by same. Upon inspection of finished roof IT FAILED. THE OWNER NEVER CALLED BACK TO REINSPECT. HE DID NOT FIX IT. When I asked how that could be I was told Cape Coral does not follow up on these cases...WHAT!!!! Then what is the purpose of getting a permit???? So you have an open permit? You do nothing about it? I had to replace the whole thing....expensive and it was what failed the original permit!!! I feel the city failed it job here.
